First Impressions...

The old adage is that you can never have two first impressions. While that may be true, I do believe in re-dos. This entire sentence is a re-do. I pressed delete at least four times before I cemented it to type.

Hell, isn't life a series of re-dos. No? Where is that first boyfriend of yours? Exactly RE-DO! And luckily, if you were smart enough, you learned your lesson and did a complete overhaul of that situation.

The reason why I'm here? Simply stated, to write.

With a blog I can practice writing regularly but receive the gratification of "instant publishing." No agents, contracts or reality shows needed. So in May 2009, I constructed this blog. Yes, 2009. You read it correctly. I rolled my own eyes when I saw the date stamp...procrastination at it's finest.

But that's all behind me now and I'm commited to writing in this venue at least weekly. So here I am. "Hello World" (courtesy of a redo)

  1. You make a great first impression! So glad you had the courage to re-do it, because you definitely should be doing it! You say re-do, I say revision. I think the latter word choice (for yes, I know, the same process) helps me validate fixing something for the umpteenth time. After all, even an editor requires revisions! I'm anxious for your next post, so get started re-doing it. Keep going, keep rising...

  2. Beautiful! I am a firm believer in Re-Do...it's a rare thing to get it right the first time. I do not profess to be perfect, but I do strive to reflect, tweak some things and,as you say RE-DO! Congratz on always being you...re-done or otherwise.

  3. We write frankly and fearlessly but then we "modify" before we print.

  5. I re-do daily and reflect monthly. It is obvious that re-dos, revisions, retakes and reevaluations are essential in the weekly, monthly, yearly regrouping process, and without the REs- one would not have the opportunity to BE WHAT THEY MIGHT HAVE BEEN.
